【Blackmail (2023) Hindi Web Series】

Our first look at Steven Spielberg's take on Blackmail (2023) Hindi Web SeriesWest Side Storyis here.

The photo (above) highlights the story's two rival New York City gangs -- the Sharks and the Jets -- and the romantic coupling that threatens to tear them all apart. Stars Ansel Elgot (Tony) and newcomer Rachel Zegler (Maria) are situated right in the middle, as it should be.

Spielberg's take on a bona fide Broadway classic sticks to the original's 1957 setting, as you probably gathered already from the fashion choices in this photo. The musical is essentially a modernized twist on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, with urban street gangs taking the place of warring Italian families in the 14th century.

Per Fox, the performers featured in the photo are, left to right: Jets members Anybodys (Ezra Menas), Mouthpiece (Ben Cook), Action (Sean Harrison Jones); Jets leader Riff (Mike Faist); Baby John (Patrick Higgins); Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler); Maria’s brother and Sharks leader Bernardo (David Alvarez); and Sharks members Quique (Julius Anthony Rubio), Chago (Ricardo Zayas), Chino (Josh Andrés Rivera), Braulio (Sebastian Serra) and Pipo (Carlos Sánchez Falú).

Also in the cast (but not pictured) are Ariana DeBose (Anita); Ana Isabelle (Rosalia); Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank); Brian d’Arcy James (Officer Krupke); Curtiss Cook (Abe), and, notably, Rita Moreno. She won an Academy Award in 1961 for her performance as Anita in the first film adaptation of West Side Story.

In Spielberg's new one, Moreno will play Valentina; she's also an executive producer.

There's no West Side Storytrailer yet, but we can hopefully expect one by the end of the year. The adaptation is set to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2020. You can find more info on the official website.
