An artist from the UK, Richard Rudge, also shared the image on Twitter, where it was retweeted over 30,000 times.

On Wednesday, Brakken took to Tumblr to explain why he made the drawing.
"The inspiration for the image came from noticing Facebook’s accuracy in identifying facial features in photos (be it behind glasses, a blurred image, or someone pulling a silly face)," he wrote.
"It made me remark on the evolution of technology, and the recurring tropes/themes in comic characters -- particularly that of Superman’s identity."
