For anyone who enjoys reading on their phone or tablet, though, there's good news: a new digital edition of the Game of Thronesbooks has been released that allows you to actually track characters on a Westeros-sized map.

A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition (iBooks and HarperVoyager)basically takes advantage of its digital format to incorporate character descriptions, House explainers and location reminders into the story.

The first book is currently the only one available, but the others are on their way soon too.

“We’re now entering a new period in the history of publishing,” George R.R. Martin was quoted as saying in a press release sent to Mashable.

“The digital book gives readers the ability to experience all this rich secondary material that had not been possible before."

"These enhanced editions available only on iBooks include sigils and family trees and glossaries. Anything that confuses you, anything you want to know more about, it’s right there at your fingertips."

A Game of Thrones is currently available on the Apple store. According to the press release, the remaining books will be made available in the coming months.
