Apple has pulled the latest software update for the Apple Watch after reports some users found it bricked their devices,"neverland eroticism" rendering them unusable.

Apple confirmed the news to Mashable, adding that the company is working on a fix for watchOS 3.1.1.

"A very small number of Apple Watch customers experienced an issue while installing watchOS 3.1.1, so as a precaution we've pulled back the software update," a spokesperson said.

"Any customers impacted should contact AppleCare, but no action is required if the update installed successfully."

According to MacRumors, devices affected by the apparent bug showed an exclamation mark on the screen and a message directing the user to Apple Support. Force reseting the device, as advised on the page, was apparently unhelpful.

It's unclear what is causing the issue, and Apple did not provide details.

In the face of reports about the general ill health of the smartwatch market, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in early December that Apple Watch sales growth was "off the charts" in the lead up to the holidays.

Apple has not yet released Apple Watch sales data publicly.
