Since America just elected a president who has a history making offensive remarks against many groups of people,Japan it is an important time to elevate those who feel isolated and remind them that they matter.

Twitter user Micah Sifry shared a note a teacher hung on his classroom door that aims to do just that.

"A dear old friend who is an NYC high school teacher posted this on his door at school today," Sifry captioned the photo on Twitter.
