It's often the thought that counts the most on Asian Dramas ArchivesMother's Day, but one little Australian boy gave his a family a shock with his daring attempt to buy a present.
Six-year-old Raith Barlow left his home in the Melbourne suburb of Geelong on Sunday morning without telling anyone, just so he could buy a television for his mum as a surprise on Mother's Day.

"It's a route that he knew the way there because we go that way to get my husband to work. When we realised he [was missing] I was petrified. My 13-year-old called the police," Stacey told the Geelong Advertiser.
After crossing a busy highway on his pushbike, Raith went to an ALDI supermarket and dragged a television to the cash register, which he tried to purchase it for 40 cents. Meanwhile, police had started searching for the young boy.
The supermarket's manager, Michael Bourdouvalis, noticed Raith came to the store alone and couldn't let him return home on his own so he started to walk with Raith nearly a kilometre back to his home. Noticing police helicopters ahead of him, Bourdouvalis stopped to call the authorities and alert them to the young boy's whereabouts.
"I don't think we could ever do anything to thank [Bourdouvalis] enough," Stacey told the newspaper. "When Raith got home, he gave me a hug and said, 'Mum, I went to buy you a TV'. It's hard because he doesn't grasp how big of a deal it was."
Give the boy and his a mum a TV, we say.
