Captain Marvel982 Archives the hero poised to save our Avengers post-Infinity War, is already proving herself one of the strongest Avengers with a first-day pre-sale record on Atom tickets. In its first 24 hours of ticket sales, Captain Marvelbeat out Deadpool 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and even Black Panther's established sales records.
SEE ALSO: 'Captain Marvel' is here to upend the Marvel formulaAccording to a press release from Atom tickets, Avengers: Infinity Waris still the top film in first-day ticket pre-sales (On Fandango, Black Pantheralso has it beat). But Captain Marvelcould be on track to nab that top spot with almost two months left until its release (Infinity Wartickets were only available for pre-sale for 42 days).
“We’re seeing fantastic advance ticket sales for ‘Captain Marvel’ because it’s a historic film for Marvel Studios, one that fans have been waiting to see for a decade,” says Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis. “As the studio’s first female-driven superhero film, ‘Captain Marvel’ is a benchmark moment for the genre, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for star Brie Larson, who will play the most powerful Marvel superhero to date.”
Captain Marvelhits theaters March 8.
