Turns out the resident is part of an archery club and "takes part in that sport," Detective Inspector Dean Johnstone told ABC News.

Police have warned others about confronting intruders with other such timeless weaponry in future, however.
Nearby medical facilities have been asked to report anyone with injuries "consistent with the incident." But we're guessing it'd be really hard to convince doctors an arrow wound in your butt was something else.
