LONDON -- The This Ain't Cops XXX (2010)iconic Claridge's hotel in Mayfair, London, is well known for taking its Christmas decor to the next level.
And this year, the hotel has unveiled an installation that interweaves themes of nature and technology with tradition and the future to create a truly immersive experience.

To create the celestial effect, light boxes line the lobby to project black and white photographic images of snow-covered silver birch trees. Beneath a canopy of natural green pine, models of Scottish pine trees are interspersed with both natural and photographed birch and fir trees.
White light fades in and out on a continuous cycle to change the scene from day to night.

In a press release, Ive and Newson said, “There are few things more pure and beautiful than nature, so that was our starting point, layering various iterations of organic forms with technology.
"Our aim was to create an all-enveloping magical experience that celebrates our enormous respect for tradition while recognising our excitement about the future and things to come."

This is the seventh year that the hotel has invited an influential guest to reinterpret its Christmas tree design. In years prior, the Claridge's tree has been designed by creative representatives of Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dior.
