Just when you think you've lost hope in the world,Omnibus  Archives a group of people came together over the weekend to make a young girl's wish come true.

Utility company Potomac Electric Power Company (Pepco) accidentally received an 8-year-old girl's letter asking for a hamster from Petco, an animal supply company, which only makes sense since the names are so easily similar to one another.

According to UPI, the letter reads as follows:

"Dear Petco pets,

I'm Serenity. I'm 8 years old. I live in Washington DC. I'm going to 2nd grade. May I please have a hamester [sic] because I never had a pet. I [love] hamesters because they eat carrots, and grass. I will take good care of it because I'll let it eat. I will make sure I clean the cage. If I receive a hamster, I will do better in school, make more friends, and become responsible."

This little girl deserves a hamster—or two—for this thoughtful letter. She has some goals put in place for this.

Instead of placing the letter to the side, Pepco, with the help from Petco, decided to fulfill Serenity's wish and buy her a hamster. They also included a home and accessories for the new pet.

Cue the awws.

A mix-up with addresses and names still worked out in the end with a happy girl and a new home for the furry friend.
