She responded to Nick Sutton, editor of the BBC News website, that she was “very surprised” by the Telegraph’s front page:

In another reply she said: "Just done my first bit of media bashing. How insensitive! I hope they sort before morning."

Goodfellow was unfazed by the lack of coverage and tweeted that winning the bronze medal was a "dream come true":
