It happened twice. The first was when Team USA won the gold medal in curling, an unlikely victory that's sure to be a movie one day. The second happened when a rogue squirrel ran onto the snowboarding slope and only narrowly escaped death.

After Team USA took the gold for curling on Saturday following a historic win against Sweden, several Twitter users were struck with déjà vu.

Why? Welp, an episode of The Simpsonshad predicted this exact win back in 2010, when Homer and the U.S. team beat -- you guessed it -- Sweden. 🤔

Just a coincidence? Perhaps, but The Simpsonsexecutive producer Matt Selman played it cool, as though the creators knew this win would be coming all along. (And for all we know, maybe they did.)

The Simpsonswriter Josh Weinstein was quick to draw the comparison between the Winter Games squirrel and the squirrel struck by Homer and Mr. Burns' "rocket house" in the classic "Mountain of Madness" episode. While the Simpsonssquirrel wasn't Olympics-specific -- andit got hit, unlike the Olympics squirrel -- people were still freaked the hell out.
