If you want to see the future perhaps consider studying episodes of The A Thought of EcstasySimpsonsvery carefully. Somehow, in some way, the animated series always manages to predict real life, just as it did during the now-concluded 2018 Winter Olympics.
It happened twice. The first was when Team USA won the gold medal in curling, an unlikely victory that's sure to be a movie one day. The second happened when a rogue squirrel ran onto the snowboarding slope and only narrowly escaped death.

The Simpsonswriter Josh Weinstein was quick to draw the comparison between the Winter Games squirrel and the squirrel struck by Homer and Mr. Burns' "rocket house" in the classic "Mountain of Madness" episode. While the Simpsonssquirrel wasn't Olympics-specific -- andit got hit, unlike the Olympics squirrel -- people were still freaked the hell out.

In the past The Simpsonshave predicted everything from Disney taking over Fox and Lady Gaga's Super Bowl halftime show entrance to Donald Trump becoming president and a whole bunch of other pop culture moments and technological advancements.
It's getting creepy, people. We best look to the animated archives to prepare ourselves for what's to come.
